The Board of Directors awards the Carl Roscher Award to an individual who through their efforts and contributions have helped to promote the goals and objectives of the Northern Illinois Alliance of Fire Protection Districts and the Fire Service through the state.  This award has only been awarded two times in the history of the Alliance and that was to Carl Roscher and Ronald Kubicki.   

It is with great pride that the Board of Directors has voted to make Margaret Schofield of the Orland Fire Protection District the third recipient to receive this great honor.  Marge was first elected to the Board of Trustees of the Orland Fire Protection District back in 1991.  She has over 17 years of service to the residents of Orland Fire Protection District. 

Marge was elected to the Board of Directors for the Northern Illinois Alliance of Fire Protection Districts in 1995 and served until 1999.  She was very instrumental in the founding and promotion of many of the Alliances programs.  Marge was a major force behind the formation of the Fire Protection District Task Force on insurance.  Marge’s hard work on legislative matters concerning the fire service helped pave the way for the Alliance to become a much stronger voice in Springfield on all issues related to the fire service.  Through her efforts the Alliance has become a leader in the training of fire administrators, trustees, and commissioners throughout Northern Illinois.
